Sverige är det enda land bland världens 15 största kongress länder som aldrig har arrangerat ett OS! Sverige ökade med över 23 % när det gäller att arrangera stora kongresser- det är bara Japan som ökar mer. Allt enligt statistik från ICCA.
ICCA conference statistics 2012
Annually, the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) publishes a ranking of countries that host international conventions.
In 2012, Sweden holds the 15th place on the international congress destination ranking. ICCA identified 233 congresses for Sweden in 2012, compared with 195 in 2011 .
The Top 15 countries on the ICCA rankings are almost the same as last year.
Some minor changes are visible: China lost the 8th position to Japan and is now ranked on the 10th position. New on the list are Australia and Sweden. Korea and Portugal have left the Top 15 and are now ranked 16th and 17th. The United States and Germany have held first and second place since 2004, without fail.
ICCA only incorporate congresses of associations in its statistics and uses the following criteria:
Minimum of 50 participants;
Organised on a regular base;
Minimum of 3 nationalities
